Walls, Ceiling & Trim
- Identify wall covering and room trim:
- Paint in living room
- Wall paper in foyer
- Columns separating dining from living room, etc.
- Drywall uses sheets that are screwed to the wall studs and then taped and joint compound to leave a smooth finish for surfacing.
- Ceilings also use drywall sheets and are finished in the same manner.
- The drywall is the most visible interior part of your home. Make sure you pick a good dry waller.
- Walls and ceilings may be painted, papered, stuccoed, tiled, or layered with other exotic materials.
- Interior trim is the most precise work of your project. Trim includes moldings, chair rails, stairway, windowsills, etc.
- Good trim can make an interior home stand out. Make sure you inspect the trim work carefully as it goes up.
